On Tuesday, a small group (BarbSo, Pat, Daisy, Jim and Marsha) of us sketched outside together at the Norma Pfieffer Park in Coburg. Lynda joined us by bike, but couldn’t stay long because she was getting ready for La Romita.Marsha sketched the trees in the sunlight.Daisy paid attention to the nearby Holly Tree.BarbSo sketched the park and a little girl playing. We’re looking for an update with color. Jim says he’s sketching places he wants to go!Pat concentrated on the truck parked nearby.Hugh and Sandy send their greetings from Rome.Jane and Pat sent this from Rome. Gelato was mentioned.The “at-home” group met on Zoom on Friday.Bev’s sketching group at the coast is participating in the Azalea Festival this weekend. This is her sketch of the art center’s mascot.Marsha’s trip to Schreiner’s Iris Garden inspired this sketch of her favorite bloom.A “circles” challenge in another group lead Daisy to one of her favorite subjects.Daisy documents the happening in her neighborhood.
Many of our members are traveling this month, but we keep on sketching!Bev is experimenting with new materials and a looser style.Daisy’s sketchbook is a chronicle of her trip to Virginia.Marsha is using a Carbon fountain pen and Prisma colored pencils on pages prepped at the stamping party at Jane’s in January.Peggy’s week included long waits for car repair, her detailed ink work helped pass the time.
Jane brought her collection of pens and colored inks for us to try out on Tuesday.
Sandy (and Hugh) joined us briefly on Zoom from Boise where they were painting with the local Plein Air group.
Instead of drawing together on Zoom this week, the TDs met in person. Jane brought her extensive collection of fountain pens and colored inks for everyone to try out. Jane, Marsha, and Pat.Peggy, Jim , and Satoko.BarbSo and Daisy.Eva enjoyed painting in the sunshine.

BarbSo, Marsha, Bitty outside! The old Alvadore Schoolhouse. Pat, Danita, Kathy, Peggy, Daisy, BarbSo, Marsha inside. What a wonderful day.
Here’s what Bitty was doing outside – zowie!BarbSo was inside and outside – lovely sketches!Bitty stopped at the bakery to get a model- to sketch, of course.Kathy is new to our group, so Danita spent some time demonstrating. Nice!Jane was “making do” with her mini palette & splayed water brushes. Kathy was accustomed to using graphite – old skills coming back!Laura used the bright light from the window to illuminate her sketching.Marsha was so intent on sketching, and included a tulip entangle!Pat was determined to use her Italy paint palette – and applied it to Laura!Peggy said her goal was to get a variety of greens – success!
